Hainsworths sit on the PH/003/02 and PH/003/12 subcommittes of the British Standards Institute in order to be able to fully understand the requirements of new legislation and to be able to contribute to the writing of new standards in conjunction with end users, purchasers and test houses.

• BS 7971:2004 - Protective Clothing and equipment for use in violent situations and in training was written to give police officers and prison officers adequate protection whilst they are engaged in operational duties or in training. Part 10 specifies requirements and test methods for coveralls to provide protection against heat and flame and specific liquids
• EN469 - Protective clothing for firefighters - Performance requirements for protective clothing for firefighters.
