Finishing

There are many different finishes available that can be added during production to give additional properties to a fabric. Most are a chemical treatment that give the fabric hydrophilic (water loving) or hydrophobic (water hating) characteristics and can also offer protection against staining from dirt, oils and grease. New technology is developing finishing routes that offer fabric protection against the penetration of liquid chemicals (e.g. petrol, acids, alkalis etc.)

Hainsworths can offer fabrics with the following finishes:

• Ref: SVM
  non durable fluorocarbon finish offering limited protection against oil, dirt and water
• REPEL+
  durable finish offering protection against hazardous chemicals
